All of my love, your stripling warrior

April 24, 2009
Hola mi Madre! Como esta? Estoy bein. Mi espanol es mejor then mi primero semano at la CCM. La comida es bein y yo sabe muchos amigos from Bonneville. Es muy importante por mi hablo mucho espanol por la dia y practicur ensenan.
I miss your hugs Mom, but the Holy Ghost come close to making me feel loved almost as much as you did. :) Thanks for the DearElders and for the little spiritual messages that are in them, they make me smile and laugh.
Sunday we had Elder and Sister Jarman talk to us. They are the ones in charge of what we get taught. And Sister Jarman told us about how we are as the army of Heleman. And she showed us a picture of and Ammonite mother hugging her stripling warrior. You know the story, they had perfect faith and trust in God because of their mothers.
Thank you for being a great mother.
All of my love, your stripling warrior

I rejoice in my heart for all that the Lord has done for me...

April 24, 2009
Hola mi Padre! Como esta? Estoy bein. Uno mas semena en el CCM. Ayer yo reciber mi flight plans y traveled to the Mexicano Consolate to sign por mi visa. Yo recibo una e-mail from mi mission presidente Hansen on Wednesday. Es muy importante por mi hablo mucho espanol. Engles es no grande, NO!
Padre yo es pocito, little scared because I have a little trouble with my grammar. I can teach and speak okay, but just conjugating the words is a little difficult for me.
I love you Dad, today is one of those tough days, but I know that the Lord is with me. It's tough being patient with myself because I know that I have learned some of this stuff before, but I just find it hard to remember it.
I rejoice in my heart for all that the Lord has done for me, and for the opportunity to go out and serve Him. How I wish that I was already in Mexico teaching my brothers and sisters at this very moment. But I must learn the language and the gospel before that happens.
Love you Dad. You have been a great example to me and I appreciate it.
I will talk to you next Monday, if I get the chance to call home from any of the three airports I'm going to.
Love, and God bless
Sincerely, your oldest son

In Memory of...

This is a note from Mom,
This last week has been a very emotional roller coaster for me and Ross.
Jordan's best friend (Logan) has been working with Ross, last Thursday they were in the truck talking and Logan told Ross about a car accident that had happened the night before. Logan was detoured around the accident on his way home from the Flowrider downtown. While Ross and Logan were together Logan received the news that it was a friend of both Logan and Jordan, Derek Jasper. Ross said Logan was very emotional.
Derek and another young man on their way home from a church ball game when the accident occured during a police chase and their car was t-boned, a red light was run by the suspects of home burglaries. There has been a lot in the papers and all over the news. Derek's obiturary came out over the weekend. Both of the young men were going on missions. Derek was to get his call the day after tomorrow.
Truly makes me grateful for the gospel and the plan of salvation. My heart breaks for their parents. Ross was reading Derek's obituary and through his tears commented that with just a few minor changes, it could easily be Jordan that they were talking about, the similarities were unreal. I know that Heavenly Father is with these families, they have commented on how sorry they feel for the suspects families.
I sent Jordan a package today, stuff for the plane ride and maybe some stuff to ease my anxiety, and his garments he asked for. I also included Derek's obituary, not sure how he will take it, I hope that someone is there to give him a hug...
To the families, I hope that Heavenly Father will continue to bless them with comfort and the knowledge that they will see their sons again....

Flight plans

Hola mi familia.
Como estan? Estoy bein y hablo mucho espanol, porque es muy importante por mi.
I have flight plan, yesturday we went to SLC to sign for our visas. I need some more garments if you can send me 4 tops, i should be okay. I will be sending some stuff back home because we got an e-mail from Pres. Hansen telling us that we can only have a one strap backpack and no i-pods. So, I will send some stuff home next week.
I have written Lauren twice before Easter and I have not received a reply. I figured I will try one more time once I get to Mexico so that she will have the new address, but if I don't get a reply to that then I just won't worry about it.
Say Hi to Bro. and Sis. Eccles for me.
I hope that your bike ride went well and that everyone is still doing good.
May 4th is when I fly out of here, so I might get to call you on that day if I get the chance to do so in an airport, I will be going through three of them so hopefully I can call. If not I will talk to you on Mother's Day.
I am so excited to get down to Mexico and also I little scared because I still don't know that much Spanish, but I know the Lord will help me.
Jax, that big pizza you saw, they have only served it once since I've been here, and I can't take pictures in the cafeteria, so I don't know if I can send a picture of it.
Justin congrats on being an eighth grade officer, I'm proud of you and hope that you have a lot of fun.
Jace 83 feet for discus, WOW. You are definitely going to be a great thrower if you really put your heart and mind into it.
Love you all, will send you your letters today.
Sincerely your eldest son and brother,

Stay a disciple of Christ...

Jax,
Hola mi hermano! Como estas? Estoy bein. La pizza es muy delescioso, pardon no photo por usted. Como eschuela? Como sus amigos?
Hey goofy, are you still taking care of Jace and Justin? Have you started baseball yet?
How are you doing in reading your scriptures? Do you mark your favorite verses?
How are you doing in your prayers?
Love you buddy, be safe
Sincerely,
Elder Jordan Ross Weaver

Mom and Dad
Hola, soy es estedes numero uno hijo! Estoy bein.
Ugh...I'm tired of Spanish so I'm going to write the rest in English. I'm doing good, everything is still the same, just trying to learn the language. Me and my companion are getting along fine and we are both excited to get to Veracruz.
.......
I want to take a minute and apologize for all the times I disobeyed you. You have both been great examples to me and it was wrong of me to have acted the way I did. I love you both very much.
I'm sorry I don't write much. It's just boring writing about the same things.
Elder Jeffery R. Holland spoke to us on Tuesday and it was awesome. He drilled into our head that our mission does not end when we get home. That we have to stay the disciples of Christ we became on our missions.
Love you both and miss you!
Say Hi and thanks to Grandma Sheri for all of the little quotes she sends me.
LOVE YOU
Sincerely, Elder Jordan Ross Weaver

I have two more weeks, and I'm so excited...

Hola mi familia.
Como estan? Estoy bein. Mi compenero es elder Gardener, y yo sintio mucho gratitude por el.
As zone leaders we simply watch out for all the elders and hermanas in the zone and make sure that there aren't any problems with anyone.
Jeff left for Monterey this Monday but I saw Landon Tomlinson here on Wednesday. I don't remember where he is going exactly but I will try to find out and let you know next week. (Ross asked his Dad, and he is going to Ventura California)
I have two more weeks and then I get sent out to Veracruz, I am so excited. My Spanish still needs work but I want to teach a real investigator, not people who volunteer. It's still fun teaching them but you only see them once and that's it.
Ask Logan to send me Katrina's, Emily's, Jordana's and A.J.'s addresses please. I want to know whats going on in their lives. Scott and Alex wrote me and they are getting married June 10, 2010.
Everything is still the same here, just sit in class and learn the gospel in Spanish, except at our Tuesday Devotional. We had Elder Jeffery R. Holland come and speak to us. It was the greatest devotional I have ever been to. I have so many great notes and some awesome advice from his talk.
Can you send me Grandpa Steve's address so I can write him please.
I love you all and pray that our Dear Father in Heaven will continue to bless you.
Sincerely,
Elder Jordan Ross Weaver
P.S. Can you thank George and Lynn for the comics that they send me, I especially liked the Marvin one that I received.

Zone Leaders...yo amo el CCM (MTC)

Hola familia, como esta?
Yo estoy bien. Mi espanol es dificil y largo en la classe. Gracias por el packege y por las cartas. Yo amo el CCM (MTC).
Okay that's all I can think of for Spanish, but I do know a lot more then that. I should since I'm teaching the first lesson in Spanish tonight for an investigator.
Me and my companion just got called as the Zone Leaders. Big surprise to us both. I am sending the camera card today, there are only 30 pictures on it so don't expect a lot.
I'm just going to write you individual letters because I don't like to e-mail under a time limit.
P.S. Tell Logan I still need our friends addresses, please.
Love you.

What happened to last month?

Hola mi familia,
Como estan? Thank you for the package and for all the "DearElders", they really make me smile and laugh.
Life here at the MTC is still the same, the only difference is that now I am halfway through it. I still don't know what happened to my last month. Time goes really fast when you are doing the Lord's work.
I don't think I have ever felt so close to the Lord like I do right now. Learning Spanish has taken its toll on my English because now I forget some English words, and I sing to myself in Spanish before I go to bed.
Gym is a lot of fun, we play volleyball a lot, and its a blast seeing everyone just have fun and not be competitive.
Can you guys ask Logan is he got my letter. If not ask him to send me everyone who is in our group of friends addresses.
Jax, I am way excited that you won the championship. I am way proud of ya buddy. Thanks for the little note in the package, I always keep it in my pocket. How are you doing reading your scriptures and praying afterwards? I love you bud and miss your hugs.
Justin, How is Jr. High treating you? I am way proud of you for getting a 4.0, always try to get a 4.0 because it will make life so much better. How are you doing on your scriptures reading and prayers? Love you, "Big Head" lol about the big head.
Jace, How is track going, and how are you liking your last year in Jr. High? I'm excited that you feeling the spirit in seminary, always live your life so that the spirit can always be with you, okay? How is your scripture reading going? Love you, take good care of the car...lol
Mom, Thank you for everything in the package, and tell Sister Hoopes thanks for the pillowcase. I love you Mom and will send the camera card home next week okay...I miss your smile Mom, whenever I'm down I don't have you or Dad to make me laugh, but I do have the Holy Ghost to keep me company and comfort me when I need it. Love you.
Hey Dad how are you? I'm excited that you have been getting work and still biking, it's fun telling other elders that my Dad can ride 206 miles in one day, they think your crazy for it, ha, ha. Love you and hope that things continue to work out for the best.
Well I have to do my laundry, love you all and God bless you,
Sincerely, Elder Jordan Ross Weaver
